The high road of Democrats
Just ignore the Republicans (as much as possible)—bypass them—to focus on what local Americans need. Stay realistic. Stay idealist. That is: Be pragmatic.
The Republicans can "believe that real people are idiots," according to Judith Warner, NY Times, because many voters don't understand what's being done. "What the G.O.P. is selling," writes Paul Krugman, "is the pure politics of resentment; you’re supposed to vote Republican to stick it to an elite that thinks it’s better than you. Or to put it another way, the G.O.P. is still the party of Nixon."
